Students arrive to our classroom at 9:00 AM. Students are allowed some social time
among Achieve students to start their day followed by curriculum exploration
experiences. Exercise/movement opportunities are encouraged by visiting the Mabee
Center at least 2 times per week. Lunch on campus provides a great opportunity for
peer mentorship and more social time among traditional students. The afternoons are
spent learning about various job opportunities as our students work on rotating job sites
with the help of job coaches. The students are dismissed at 3:00 PM.
If you are serious about building a life of purpose and would benefit from an intensive one-year transition program that provides specific classroom instruction paired with social and vocational inclusion with same age peers then we encourage you to apply.
Achieve does not guarantee a job at the completion of the program; however, students will spend many hours learning various jobs within many college campus departments such as food service, facilities, athletics, etc. These job experiences focus on work readiness skills as well as specific job tasks. These skills paired with the person-centered approach to our program is designed to give the student the skills and support to move into a preferred job at the completion of the program.
No, we are unable to provide transportation for students. Students are expected to arrive on campus for class to start at 9:00 AM and are expected to be picked up on campus at 3:00 PM.
Achieve is a transition program therefore; students would not qualify for traditional college student loans or a Pell grant. Students are encouraged to apply for local scholarship funds through their high school or private entities.
Once you have gone through the application process and receive an acceptance letter you will have 30 calendar days to accept and pay the required $200 deposit. Once the deposit is payed you are officially enrolled.
If for some reason you are unable to attend at the start of the program or you are no longer interested in the program, you will be responsible for a prorated amount from the date of your initial acceptance and receipt of $200.
Parent support is imperative for the success of the individual. Parents will be asked to attend an initial parent orientation meeting and two workshops throughout the school year. During these meetings, parents will learn how to best support their student during this transition.
